Lin Ching-Yi

Deputy Minister of Health and Welfare, Republic of China (Taiwan)

Lin Ching-Yi has served as a Deputy Minister in the Ministry of Health and Welfare since May 2024. Between 2020 and 2022, she was Ambassador at Large in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where she was responsible for international gender issues. Lin was a legislator at large of the Democratic Progressive Party from 2016 to 2020, mainly focusing on medical and public health policies. Prior to her political career, Lin worked as an obstetrician and gynecologist and served as Director of the International Medical Service Center at Chung Shan Medical University Hospital. In that capacity, she delivered medical services in Tuvalu, Nepal, India, and Kyrgyzstan as part of the Taiwan Medical Mission. She holds Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD degrees in medicine from Chung Shan Medical University, and she has a Master’s from National Taiwan University.
