Prof Gulshan Sachdeva is Jean Monnet Chair; Coordinator, Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence; and Professor at the Centre for European Studies, School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) New Delhi.. He is Book Series Editor, Europe-Asia Connectivity (Palgrave Macmillan) and Co-Editor Asia-Europe Journal (Springer). Earlier, he was also Editor-in-Chief, International Studies (SAGE), Chairperson, Centre for European Studies, Director, Energy Studies Programme and Director, UGC Europe Area Studies Programme at JNU. He headed the ADB and Asia Foundation projects on regional cooperation at the Afghanistan Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kabul. He was also consultant with the ILO. He held the Indian Council of cultural Relations (ICCR) Chair at the University of Leuven and served as a Visiting faculty at nine European universities. Apart from books and monographs, he has contributed more than 100 research papers in academic journals and edited books. He is a regular contributor to mainstream Indian print and digital media, as well as television discussions. Some of his recent publications include Challenges in Europe: Indian Perspectives (Palgrave Macmillan) and India in a Reconnecting Eurasia (Washington: CSIS).
He holds PhD in Economics from the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Budapest.
