Shuhei Nomura is a Distinguished Professor and head of the Global Health Policy Lab at the International Research Institute of Disaster Science (IRIDeS), Tohoku University. He is deeply committed to practice, education, and research, actively engaging in domestic and international health policy formation processes through data-driven decision support. His expertise spans disease burden, diplomacy and development aid, nutrition science and policy, pandemic prevention, preparedness, and response (PPR), as well as health emergency and disaster risk management (Health EDRM). Dr. Nomura also holds several concurrent positions, including Professor at the Global Research Institute of Keio University and Professor at the Department of Food, Nutrition and Health, International University of Health and Welfare. He is a member of the Scientific Council for the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) study and of the Independent Expert Group of the Global Nutrition Report (GNR).
