Kristy Hsu is director of the Taiwan ASEAN Studies Center, Chung-Hua Institution for Economic Research. Her areas of research interests include Southeast Asian studies, regional economic integration, international trade policy and economic/trade law, gender and economy related issues, and supply chain resilience and economic security. She was a visiting Fellow at the Korea Institute for International Economic Policy (KIEP) in Seoul, South Korea, and the Washington, DC–based Wilson Center, where she published a series of publications on US Strategy on Semiconductor Supply Chains in 2022 and since then has taken a deep dive into geopolitical issues and major powers’ strategy on semiconductor sector and Taiwan’s response. She advises on the Taiwanese government’s and business associations’ external relations and economic/trade policy, particularly focusing on economic integration and FTA policy, cross-strait economic relations, supply chain resiliency and economic security issues.

She is a nonresident senior research fellow at the Taiwan-Asia Exchange Foundation, advisor to the National Development Council, Ministry of Finance, the Taipei City Government, senior advisor to the Council of Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce in Asia and the Council of Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce in Vietnam, and serves on advisory boards for main business associations and industrial organizations in Taiwan, including the Chinese National Federation of Industries and the General Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of China.

Kristy obtained her J.D. from the School of Law, Soochow University, and BA from National Taiwan University.
