Based in Taiwan, Mr. Chen is a highly regarded corporate figure in the local community.
Mr. Chen is currently chairman of Eyon Holding Group, a private holding entity that is the leading shareholder of Wan Hai Lines, Taian Insurance, and Shih Lin Paper. He is the vice chairman of Taian Insurance Co. and Taiwan Air Cargo Terminal. He also holds many other local and foreign directorships. He is the chairman of Chen Yung Foundation in Taiwan. He also sits on the boards of the New York Philharmonic, the Stern School, the Pacific Council on International Policy, and several charitable organizations.
Mr. Chen received his MBA degree from New York University in 1991 and his bachelor’s degree in economics from Fu-Jen University in 1985. He was awarded “Outstanding Alumnus 2004” by Fu-Jen University and was named “Heroes of Philanthropy 2016” by Forbes Asia.
He married Catherine in 1989, and they have two children, Vivian and Handrick. Mr. Chen enjoys playing badminton, skiing, cycling, golfing, reading, traveling, singing, and going to concerts.
