Join the Center for Asia-Pacific Resilience and Innovation (CAPRI) for the second year of our high school internship program! The 2026 program will offer students who are in their last 2 years of high school in the Asia-Pacific region the opportunity to explore real-world policy challenges, choose a related topic, and develop research skills while writing an original English-language research paper. Interns will work closely with expert researchers at an international think tank to engage with timely policy issues, such as health resilience, economic dynamism, transformative technologies, and sustainability. Through the program, interns will gain hands-on experience, mentorship, and practical insights into global policy.
Current students in Taiwan who will be in their last 2 years of high school by fall 2026

Introduction to CAPRI, research methods and mentor pairing
Submit 1,000-1,500 words draft essay and attend online review meeting
10-15 minutes presentation on research paper followed by Q&A

Over 7 weeks from July 6 to August 21, 2026, students will write a 1,000–1,500-word research paper in English under the guidance of mentors from CAPRI’s research team. To learn more about the internship and see examples of last year’s projects, visit the CAPRI Future Policy Leaders Program webpage.
Students will primarily work remotely with their research mentor to develop their research projects. They will attend three mandatory meetings, including two in-person sessions at CAPRI’s Taipei office and one online check-in halfway through the internship period.
Students will be paired with a mentor on CAPRI’s research team to guide them through formulating a research question, writing and revising the research paper, and preparing a final presentation.
Receive a certificate from CAPRI recognizing successful internship and research project completion.
Work closely with researchers at one of Asia’s leading international think tanks and gain exposure to global policy discussions and professional research practices.
Produce an English-language research paper with expert guidance, strengthening your academic writing, critical thinking, and university application portfolios.
