The Center for Asia-Pacific Resilience and Innovation (CAPRI) is Taiwan’s first nongovernmental, nonpartisan, international policy think tank. Established in 2022, CAPRI’s mission is to enhance global resilience and promote innovative policy by drawing on the experiences of the Asia-Pacific region through comparative public policy research. Our research and convening at the intersection of health, economic growth, environmental sustainability, and technological transformation provide policy insights from the Asia Pacific for policymakers, industry leaders, the media, and the public.

The Opportunity

We are looking for Associates to undertake high-quality, interdisciplinary policy research, develop proposals, design and manage projects, coordinate convening activities, and undertake operational tasks as part of an international team of highly motivated and globally minded staff. Associates contribute to the creative development and execution of CAPRI’s research and engagement by collaboratively proposing, designing, and implementing research projects with CAPRI staff as well as external partners and nonresident experts. Associates also facilitate coordination with external partners worldwide on joint research and convening opportunities. Operational, developmental, and administrative tasks include coordinating speaker invitations, program notes, and logistics of CAPRI’s public and closed-door events, planning and executing internal meetings and events, and presenting CAPRI’s work to professionals in academia, industry, civil society, and government.

Required Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and writing skills in English
  • MA, PhD, or JD in a field relevant to CAPRI’s areas of focus, such as social science, public health, Asian studies, public policy, economics, international affairs, or environmental studies. Highly experienced candidates with BAs will also be considered.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in policy research, especially on the Asia Pacific
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a small, flat, start-up organizational structure
  • Creativity, flexibility, and a collaborative mindset
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in project management
  • Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese

Location

On-site in Taipei

Salary

Competitive; determined in light of position-related experience, professional accomplishments, and education.
